Roll of Honour

On the Roll of Honour plaque to the dead of the 1914 - 18 war are several names of Dalton men who gave their lives for their country.

Included are the names of three brothers - Thomas, Richard and Roger Oram. They were three of the five sons of Christopher and Margaret Oram who acted as caretakers of the church and grounds. Their home, situated to the left of the main churchyard entrance, can be seen in the pony and trap photograph.

Northumberland Fusiliers
who died on Saturday, 15th April 1916. Age 22.
Buried - STE. Marie Cemetery, Le Harve, Seine-Maritime, France
Grave ref. Div. 3. L 10.

Richard Oram
Private 48423 2nd / 6th Bn.,
North Staffordshire Regiment
who died on Sunday, 24th March 1918. Age 25
Memorial - Arras Memorial, Pas de Calais, France - Bay 7 and 8

Thomas died too but no information has yet been found.
