I am indebted to Gerald Gustard, Lynn Liddell, Kathleen Inman and Edna Robinson for producing this interesting and helpful booklet. It replaces "Notes on St. Andrews" which was written by my predecessor, the Rev'd E. B. Pateman.
St. Andrews remains very much a going concern. We have worship every Sunday and monthly JAFFA (Jesus And Fun For All) meetings. Lay people play a full part in all aspects of church life and will continue to do so. We are committed to spreading the Good News of God in Jesus and play our part in the Alpha Course.
As we stand a little way over the threshold of the new millennium we face many challenges and opportunities ~ Shared Ministry, Locality Ministry, Mission and Evangelism and on Advent Sunday of this year, a new service book ~ Common Worship. It will be interesting to look back when the next guidebook is produced to see where God has led us to in these developments.
Whatever happens, the message of Jesus and His church will be the same ~ to follow him and to bring others to him "...... the first thing Andrew did was to find his brother and tell him, "We have found the Messiah" (that is the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus." (John 1 : 41, 42.)
With every blessing,
Revd. Alan Milne
