St.Andrews Church

Postscript

We hope that you have enjoyed this brief snapshot of life through the ages of our church. Since its first inception as a place of worship Dalton's church has witnessed the passage of cultures and events which have subsequently shaped our present community.

The history of England is personified by its people, their ideas, dreams and achievements. Let us not only glorify the buildings and structures which they created but the fortitude it took to establish them. In the case of St. Andrew's, now reaching its own millennium, praise and admiration go out to the masons who designed and built it with such limited resources and to those who have maintained its fabric since.

As we enter a new millennium, we can reflect on the survival of Christianity into the 21st Century and how fundamental faith in God still exists and guides our daily lives. Whilst today's society has changed from circa 1000 AD, we can witness the desire to worship God and be thankful for his gifts to us.

The past is a rock on which we stand, a cloth woven from the threads of time. Our task is to build on the achievements of our forbears, weaving new patterns from our own experiences, hoping we too can contribute to man's amazing journey, towards God's vision of a loving, peaceful world.
